Marcus Smith has watched his spot in Steve Borthwick’s first team dwindle over the past year, though the rugby ace contributed to England’s commanding 38-18 win over Fiji last weekend.
The 25-year-old has faced a challenging opening to the campaign with Harlequins. Smith featured at full-back at Twickenham’s Allianz Stadium and assisted his team in securing six tries during a dominant performance.
Up next though are the All Blacks, who England haven’t managed to beat since 2019. Freddie Steward returns at number 15 against New Zealand following recovery from a finger problem, meaning Smith will be relegated to Borthwick’s bench, hoping to influence proceedings as an impact player.
Here we take a look at the back’s life beyond rugby, including his stunning partner, enormous wealth and ambition to play for a different nation.
Ambition to play for a different nation

Smith earned his England test cap in 2021 but only relocated to Britain at 13 years old. Prior to this move, he resided in his native Philippines before spending time in Singapore. Smith’s mother is Filipina and he was raised in the Asian nation until he turned eight.
Whilst his focus remains on England currently, Smith acknowledges that eventually he’d fancy representing or getting involved with his birth country on rugby’s grandest platforms, similar to one of his family members who’s already doing so.
During an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session with England Rugby, Smith revealed his aspirations: “One day I’d love to help and be involved in Philippine rugby – my brother currently plays for the Philippines.
“Right now, my heart and mind are fully with England. It’s a dream to wear this kit. But one day that might be different… if the chance comes and my body holds up, it would be amazing to play alongside my younger brothers.”

The Harlequins sensation is supported from the touchlines by his gorgeous girlfriend Beth Dolling. Whilst it remains unclear exactly when the couple first crossed paths, Smith has been romantically linked with Dolling since 2019.
Dolling, 25, is currently pursuing a modelling career and has featured in digital advertising campaigns for major brands including Harvey Nichols. She has also tried her hand at music.

Through her social media presence she documents her and Smith’s journeys together and regularly attends his fixtures. She was amongst the spectators when he secured a starting position against Fiji.
Boasting over 40,000 Instagram followers, her profile indicates she’s represented by M Model Management in Manchester, alongside Body London.
Marcus Smith’s impressive wealth
Estimates suggest Smith’s wealth totals £1.5million. This fortune has been accumulated primarily through his extensive rugby career representing both England and Harlequins.

Smith has also secured numerous profitable endorsement agreements throughout his professional rugby journey. His sponsorship portfolio includes major names such as Nike, Lucozade Sport and Tissot.
This year he agreed fresh terms with his Premiership club that will see him remain at the Stoop until 2028. This contract allegedly earns Smith approximately £600,000 per year, supplemented by his £160,000 RFU central agreement.
Smith declared at the time: “I love the club; it’s given me and my family so much over the years. Every time I step into the training ground, I’m excited about the future because of the talent we have here.”
