Germany U17 will play their Burkina Faso counterparts in the Round of 32 of the U17 World Cup.

Germany will face Burkina Faso in the Round of 32 of the U17 World Cup. Marc-Patrick Meister’s side finished top of the group after a 7-0 victory over El Salvador. Burkina Faso started their campaign with a defeat to the USA before narrow wins against the Czech Republic and Tajikistan.
All 11 European teams progressed to the knockout stages, while the three OFC representatives finished bottom of their respective groups. Out of the ten African participants, only Ivory Coast were eliminated from the group stage.
Hosts Qatar and the recent U20 World Cup organizers Chile are also among the 16 teams to get knocked out early in the tournament. Mexico nicked the last best third-placed spot from Saudi Arabia based on fair play points.
Accordingly, in the Round of 32, they will face the best-performing group stage team, Argentina. Germany will play another CAF side – Senegal or Uganda – if they beat Burkina Faso to reach the Round of 16.
