Strictly’s Nikita Kuzmin supported as he says ‘said it before’ over ‘hidden’ health battle
The professional dancer has been branded an ‘inspiration’ as he opened up in his latest social media post

Nikita Kuzmin has been branded an ‘inspiration’ as he was supported over his latest social media post, highlighting what could be considered a ‘hidden’ health battle.
The Strictly Come Dancing star is currently competing in the 2025 run of the hit dance show alongside actress and West End star, Amber Davies.
The pair are set to take part in week eight of the competition on Saturday night (November 15) where they’ll perform a Paso Doble to Dream On by Aerosmith in the hopes of making it through to next weekend’s Blackpool special.
But ahead of their next performance, Ukrainian-born dancer Nikita took to social media with a message to highlight ‘World Diabetes Day’.
The dancer was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a child and now uses his profile to help raise awareness of managing the condition – calling it his “superpower”.
In 2023, Nikita opened up to fans about his journey, struggles and symptoms living with the condition. He shared how was “proud to be diabetic” and wear a sensor, admitting he had “good and bad days”.
He said: “Shared a bit of my personal story this morning and hope to send a little message to maybe that one person who needs a bit of positivity in a newfound condition. Your life will be fine! Everything is ok. You can manage everything!”

Now, he’s marked ‘World Diabetes Day’, the primary global awareness campaign, which fell on Friday (November 14), as he shared a picture of himself on social media in which his Libre monitor could be seen on his arm.
Alongside the post, Nikita wrote: “WORLD DIABETES DA. I said it before and I will always say and believe, Diabetes is our superpower. So let’s go out there and rock the world.”
Celebrity dance partner Amber was quick to respond, as she commented on the post: “Inspiration to all.” Fellow Strictly 2025 contestant Lewis Cope also replied: “Love this [blue heart emoji].”
Fans were also keen to show their support. @hev552 said: “a true inspiration and role model to so many.” @glamlocks wrote: “Such an inspiration you are! My daughter has #type1 and loves you.”
