Multiple officers shot in Osage County

OSAGE COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) – UPDATE: KBI confirms Multiple officers shot in Osage County.
Responding law enforcement will hold a media update at 2:15 p.m. WIBW will livestream the coverage.
The Kansas Highway Patrol confirms that an incident this morning in Osage County involved both the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Osage County Sheriff’s Office.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation told 13 NEWS an exchange of gunfire occurred around 10:30 a.m. Saturday at a residence north of 113th and S. Topeka Blvd. The location is north of Carbondale in Osage Co.
KHP says the incident has concluded, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The KBI said “multiple” law enforcement officers were injured. They could not yet confirm how many or how serious the injuries are.
Shawnee Co. Sheriff Brian Hill confirms his agency is among several on scene in Osage Co., assisting at a reported officer involved shooting with several people injured.

The Topeka Police Department posted to social media that they, too, were sending officers to assist what they called “a developing situation in Osage County.” TPD said none of its officers is injured.

13 NEWS has a crew on the scene. They report roads around an area north of Carbondale are blocked. We are working to get confirmation on how many people are injured and the severity of the injuries.
