Hear: Death/Control Denied co-founder Chuck Schuldiner recorded a cover of Madonna’s “Frozen”

A previously unheard instrumental cover of Madonna‘s “Frozen” recorded by late Death / Control Denied mastermind Chuck Schuldiner has surfaced online. Schuldiner’s nephew Chris Steele shared the track earlier today, November 11th, posting a video of himself playing the demo through his car stereo.

According to Steele, Schuldiner recorded the cover during the early stages of his battle with cancer, making it one of the final known pieces of music he worked on before his death.

Steel posted the following on Death’s social media:

Found this today going through some things. Chuck recorded this in the early stages of his battle with cancer, I remember it well. Chuck sitting in his bedroom with his stealth and a drum machine. I’m not sure how many people outside of the family and a few friends have heard this but it’s all yours. Chuck’s version of Madonna’s 1998 single “Frozen”. 🤘🏻
