Ja Morant injury update: Memphis Grizzlies star leaves game vs Cavs with calf soreness

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant checked out of the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers with 6:01 left in the first quarter on Nov. 15 and headed to the locker room. He will not return due to right calf soreness, the team announced.
Morant, who helped the Grizzlies get off to a solid start against the Cavs, was jogging gingerly up the floor before he was subbed out. He immediately headed to the locker room.
The two-time All-Star appeared to suffer the injury when he collided with Cavs guard Sam Merrill while both players went for a loose ball. Morant was fouled on the play and walked off in pain.
Morant missed the Grizzlies game on Nov. 12 against the Boston Celtics due to a sore right ankle suffered in a loss against the New York Knicks on Nov. 11.
He had seven points and two assists in six minutes before leaving the game.
No Morant means the Grizzlies will finish the game with no available point guards. Ty Jerome (calf), Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe) and Javon Small (toe) are also out for Memphis.
