Prepare your bladders because Avatar: Fire and Ash is going to be a long one. The run-time for the third film in James Cameron’s epic science fiction series premieres on Dec. 19, and listings on theater websites have revealed that it will have a runtime of 3 hours and 15 minutes.

That’s just three minutes longer than Avatar: The Way of Water, but significantly longer than the original Avatar, which clocked in at 2 hours and 42 minutes. Of course Cameron has a proven track record of persuading viewers to buckle in for long viewing times. Avatar: The Way of Water is the third highest-grossing film of all time, while number four is Cameron’s 1997 epic romance Titanic, which shares a 3 hour and 15 minute runtime with Avatar: Fire and Ash.

That runtime will be packed with the personal drama and absolutely stunning spectacle that have made the Avatar franchise both absurdly expensive and extremely successful. After Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and his family joined the aquatic Metkayina clan to defend Pandora from exploitation by the Resources Development Administration in Avatar: The Way of Water, he’ll continue the fight in Fire and Ash. The vengeful Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) has allied himself with a highly aggressive volcano-dwelling clan of Na’vi led by Varang (Oona Chaplin).

The film promises epic battles across land, sea, and air, including the return of the toruk, the giant flying creature that Jake was able to bond with and ride in Avatar to unite the Na’vi and protect the sacred Tree of Souls. One of the big arcs involves Quaritch’s son Spider (Jack Champion), whom Jake adopted and raised as a Na’vi. He’s seen to no longer require an oxygen mask to live on Pandora, which is good for him but bad for the Na’vi as it could enable a larger scale invasion.

Avatar: Fire and Ash premieres on Dec. 19.
