Amidst the defensive struggles it appears a move could be on the horizon

According to Jay Rosehill of TheLeafsNation, the Toronto Maple Leafs are reportedly trying “hard” to acquire Calgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson.
Andersson, 29, has six points and a minus one rating in 18 games this season.
The Maple Leafs rank fourth in goals scored per game with 3.64, but the team’s defensive struggles have been the leading factor in their slow start.
They rank dead last in goals allowed per game, with 3.82.
While Andersson is an offensive defenseman, he’s physical and could provide a big boost to the Leafs blue line.
However, the Leafs have very few assets outside of Easton Cowan, Ben Danford and their 2028 first round pick. It’s hard to imagine they’ll move any of those pieces.
Treliving has a difficult decision to make: Should they keep rolling with the roster they’ve got or is it worth making a big move but have to deal a young piece?
