A little over an hour into the morning session of Day 2, Gill walked out to bat after Simon Harmer dismissed Washington Sundar. The South Africa off-spinner continued to bowl from round the stumps to the Indian captain, who slog swept him on the third ball he faced. Gill picked up a four for it, but was in pain and discomfort straight away. The Indian team physio came to attend to Gill who clutched the back of his neck.
