One of 2025’s Best GMT Watches Costs Less Than $1,000

While other GMTs in Unimatic’s 40mm U4 case have a tendency to feel distinctly utilitarian, the dial of the new Modello Quattro U4 GMT sets it apart from its brethren. In its Black iteration, the dark background is overlaid with an outer 24-hour scale flanking a white minute track and an inner 12-hour track. Unimatic’s signature bifurcated sword handset—joined here by a bright orange-tipped, arrow-shaped GMT hand à la the Explorer II—is complemented by a sparse bit of dial text featuring both the Unimatic and Todd Snyder wordmark. The design reduces a GMT layout—which can often feel cluttered—to its bare essence. (The Cream version simply switches out the background color for beige and typography color for black, as well as the color of the strap.)

Over the past few years, Snyder has churned out a long string of hit watches. The collaborator works mostly with Timex, slam dunking colorful takes on the Tank, finding excellent inspiration in his own jackets, or reworking classic models like the Q and Marlin. Snyder is a designer who clearly understands the importance of a watch to a great outfit. Working with Unimatic is a thoughtful way to expand TS’s universe of timepieces. The Modello Quattro U4 GMT is perfect for someone who values attention to detail but desires a bit more functionality from their everyday watch.

The balance between vintage inspiration and familiarity on the one hand and modern innovation and affordability on the other is the needle that every watch brand is trying to thread these days. That Snyder and Unimatic can manage this while keeping their wares priced in the sub-$1K category is a good sign for the broader industry—and even better news for us GMT lovers.
