Brutal Bachelor moment caught on camera

The heartbeak was evident after Golden Bachelor, Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden, handed out his final two roses in Monday’s episode ahead of this Sunday’s series finale.

After what appeared to be a successful home visit in contestant Kim’s state of Brisbane, the blonde medic was sent packing in one of the season’s most devastating moments.

Despite the show’s frontrunner confessing that she was falling in love with the handsome widower during their final date together, Bear made the ultimate decision to take Sunny and Janette through to the finale instead.

And there was no hiding how Kim, 60, was feeling as she leant in for her final goodbye with the man with whom she was hoping to live happily ever after.

Her racing heartbeat could be heard loud and clear on Bear’s lapel mic – and fans could feel every emotion in that moment..

“WTF! Can’t believe Bear sent Kim, the least problematic person there, home,” one fan commented.

“Kim deserves so much better than Bore (Bear), she’s so out of his league,” another added.

And another applauded Kim for how well she handled the public break-up: “Well done Kim. Classy to the end. You’ll find a good one.”

Indeed. The classiest moment of all was perhaps in their final exchange when Bear declared: “You’re going to find someone special, I know. I know you will,” and Kim replied with a simple, “one day.”

Now, in a raw chat with 9Entertainment, the contestant has opened about the exact moment she was blindsided by Bear’s decision, saying her “heart was left lying on the ground” – even though she had a horrible feeling she was going to be the one sent packing on the night.

”My entire job as a doctor is reading people’s body language. I was reading the body language of the makeup artists and the hairdressers and the microphone guys who I developed a real relationship with… everybody was really quiet on the day that I went home, there was a different vibe, and I could pick it up,” she confessed.

“In my heart of hearts, I knew he wasn’t going to pick me only. I thought we had a genuine connection, but I thought this is ominous.”

Two-time widow Kim shared many heartfelt moments with Bear throughout the series, finding a connection through their shared grief of losing partners. But in the end, it wasn’t enough for Kim to be handed out that final rose.

“I made a connection with Bear. I feel like maybe he did his grieving a different way to me and I think we both showed each other that there was a slightly different way to do it, nothing’s right, and he’s on his own journey that way and I’m on mine,” she shared.

Her search for love might’ve ended on TV, but Kim admits she hasn’t given up on real love away from the cameras, and will be picky with who she settles with given her first two marriages were such positive (albeit heartbreaking) love stories.

“I’m not going to let myself be chosen. I’m going to choose, and I have had a big break from dating and it’s been kind of refreshing,” she told 9Entertainment.

“I’ve had nothing but positive experience of relationships and marriage… I’ve got 30 years left and I would love to, and I know I’ve got the capacity to do it again and do it ever better. My third person in my life is going to get all the benefits of all the life experience and I hope, thrives under my love.”

The Golden Bachelor finale airs Sunday at 7pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
