First Big Brother contestant kicked out

Big Brother’s first housemate for 2025 has been sent packing.

Sunday’s live eviction episode saw arguably the three most controversial housemates of the season thus far up for eviction, with all three frequently rubbing their fellow contestants – and some viewers – up the wrong way.

Up for elimination in Sunday’s ep were Perth model Holly – who copped the vast majority of votes from her fellow housemates, a whopping 21 – “anti-woke” lad’s mag publisher Michael, who scored 13 votes, and Trump-loving grandma Jane, who was automatically up for elimination as she’d failed a task assigned to her by Big Brother.

And the first eliminated contestant for Big Brother 2025 is…

Michael.

Michael predicted his own eviction, telling host Mel Tracina that he thought he’d be going tonight. “I’m an older guy, and it’s younger girls voting. They’re not voting for me,” he said, referring to the show’s public vote-to-stay system.

And he was also the only contestant of the three to remain unapologetic about his behaviour on the day of the voting, saying he had no regrets about riling up his fellow housemates and suggesting that viewers should keep him in just so he could antagonise the house more.

Speaking to Tracina after his elimination, Michael said he was excited to check his emails and see his children – in that order.

Earlier this week, when time came for contestants to pick the housemates up for eviction, Holly revealed herself to be an especially divisive personality. While she won some fans with her glamorous demeanour, she earned the vast majority of votes from her fellow housemates due to what they described as her self-centred behaviour.

Michael copped the second-highest number of votes, with some contestants in the house expressing they felt uncomfortable listening to his pontificating on various topics.

And Jane, the last contestant to enter the house, insisted she’d bring a fun energy to the show but had a whopping meltdown after she spotted Holly and contestant Colin kissing this week. In a tense house meeting, she tearfully labelled their clandestine kisses in the communal bedroom as “disrespectful” and argued that her own children would never do that in front of her in her own house – perhaps forgetting that Holly and Colin aren’t her children and this isn’t her house.

Big Brother continues 7:30pm Monday.
