Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon appeared to be fighting tears as she revealed she is engaged to her footballer beau.
The actress, famed for playing Bethany Platt in the ITV soap, revealed on Sunday (November 16) that her boyfriend Ryan Ledson was now her fiance as he popped the question.
The pair, who have two children – Sonny and Nancy – together went public with their relationship in June 2021.
Their romance, which came almost a year after she was reported to have split from her former boyfriend of three years, Tom Leech, blossomed in lockdown after they had got talking on the celebrity dating app, Raya.
They then announced in September 2022 that Lucy, who is known for playing Bethany Platt in the ITV soap, was pregnant with her and Ryan’s first child and was already five months pregnant.
Their happy news came after Lucy suffered a tragic miscarriage back in March 2022. She previously recalled how she discovered the news during a private scan at seven weeks.
They later fell pregnant again, with their son Sonny making his arrival into the world in February 2023. Lucy and Ryan then welcomed their second child into the world, a baby girl named Nancy, back in January.
Now, the couple are set to tie the knot after Ryan topped off Lucy’s 30th birthday celebrations by asking her to marry him.
Confirming the news, Lucy took to Instagram with a string of photos in which she showed off her sparkling engagement ring. In the first, she and Ryan posed for a selfie as she held her hand up to the camera, and it appeared the bride-to-be was emotional as her eyes filled with tears.

Another photo showed Lucy sitting in a restaurant, in which she could be seen holding up her glass with her gorgoeus engagement ring dazzling on her wedding finger.
Alongside the post, the soap star wrote: “Ending the birthday weekend with my best friend as a fiancé!!!! I can’t wait to marry you @ryanledson8.”
And the congratulatory messages quickly came flooding in. Corrie co-star Cait Fitton said: “Congratulations beauty one!!! That is amazing.” Vicky Myers also gushed: “Congratulations to you both! What wonderful news.”
Andy Whyment typed: “That’s amazing news absolutely made up for you both.” Emmerdale star Laura Norton replied: “Congrats lucy.” Footballer Chloe Kelly wrote: “Congratulations [love heart eyes emojis].”
