Legendary Mid-Atlantic, NWA/WCW announcer Bob Caudle has passed away

Wrestleview is sad to report that legendary Mid-Atlantic, NWA and WCW announcer Bob Caudle has passed away at the age of 95.

According Caudle’s son Mike, his father passed away peacefully in his sleep overnight.

Caudle began his broadcasting career began in Wilmington, North Carolina. He later moved to a different broadcasting position in Savannah, Georgia, where he then started hosting a studio wrestling show. After moving back to North Carolina, he was the weatherman for TV station WRAL in Raleigh where NWA Atlantic Wrestling taped shows on a weekly basis.

Caudle is best known for hosting All-Star Wrestling, Wide World Wrestling, Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling and World Wide Wrestling for Jim Crockett Promotions. Caudle also, did color commentary alongside Jim Ross for NWA/WCW pay-per-views in the late 80’s. In 1991 after his exit from WCW, Caudle worked for Smokey Mountain Wrestling up until it closed down.
