It could be argued that the 2025 summer transfer window for Liverpool Football Club was the most epic in football history.

Not only did The Reds break the English transfer record once, but they broke it twice.

When Florian Wirtz officially joined Liverpool for a record £116m, it sent a major signal to the football world that Liverpool were looking to kick on from winning the English Premier League title.

But when they went one better and spent £125m on signing Alexander Isak, it sent shockwaves throughout the world.

Don’t forget, prior to these two signings, Liverpool had also spent big on the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Giovanni Leoni and Milos Kerkez.

2025 represented a major shift in the transfer policy of the club.

Gone was a more cautious approach to the transfer window and an era of Liverpool FC being able to compete with any club for transfers arrived.

And it seems as though the plan for 2026 is to double down on that.

Just yesterday, DaveOCKOP exclusively revealed that Liverpool are holding exploratory talks to sign Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.

Semenyo has been one of the standout players in the English Premier League over the past two seasons and there are rumoured to be many clubs interested in signing the 25-year-old.

But the Ghanaian isn’t the only player that Liverpool are keen to bring to the club in 2026.

There’s another player, also wanted by several rivals, that The Reds are holding talks to potentially sign.

DaveOCKOP can exclusively reveal that Liverpool are holding initial talks to discuss signing Crystal Palace and England star Adam Wharton in 2026.

Just like Semenyo, Wharton has also been a player whose profile has exploded over the past couple of seasons.

During a period of unprecedented success for Crystal Palace, including both an FA Cup and Community Shield wins for the first time ever, Adam Wharton has been a key part of the club winning those trophies.

Based on our understanding, this is a move for likely for the summer of 2026 rather than in the January window.

Back in September, DaveOCKOP exclusively revealed that Adam Wharton’s preference was a move to Liverpool.

LFC fans will be hoping that remains the case throughout the season and that these exploratory talks can lead to something more concrete down the line.
