Packers vs. Giants: Who’s in, who’s out for Week 11?

The Green Bay Packers and New York Giants will announce their inactive players 90 minutes before kickoff on Sunday, or roughly 10:30 a.m. CT. This post will update as more information on player availability is known and official gameday inactives for Week 11 are announced.

The Packers go into Sunday with six players having status designations on the final injury report, including two late additions from Saturday. The Giants, meanwhile, have a giant injury report, and it’s likely the first game with interim coach Mike Kafka in charge will feature several backups at key spots on both sides of the ball.

As is the case for most games in mid-November, both the Packers and Giants will be missing key players. The injury rate in football is 100 percent. Which team will better overcome the injury situation on Sunday?

While the Packers won’t be returning edge rusher Lukas Van Ness, who is out for the fifth straight game because of a foot injury, the offense will be getting back rookie receiver Matthew Golden. The first-round pick missed last week’s loss to the Eagles with a shoulder injury. Savion Williams (foot) is also active for Sunday.

  • CB Nate Hobbs (knee)
  • K Brandon McManus (right quad)
  • WR Malik Heath (coach’s decision)
  • DL Lukas Van Ness (foot)
  • OL Donovan Jennings (healthy scratch)

Van Ness will miss his fifth straight game with a foot injury. At kicker, Lucas Havrisik will replace McManus for the third time this season.

Rookie receivers Matthew Golden and Savion Williams are ACTIVE.

  • QB Jaxson Dart
  • DL Chauncey Golston
  • T James Hudson III
  • S Tyler Nubin
  • DL Rakeem Nuñez-Roches Sr.
  • WR Darius Slayton
  • OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux

Linebacker Bobby Okereke and cornerback Paulson Adebo, who were both questionable to play, are active.

The rookie third-round pick is questionable to play with a foot injury. Per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Williams got off the team bus on Sunday morning with a boot on his injured foot.

Williams has been the Packers’ primary kickoff returner alongside Bo Melton. It’s possible Melton will be the top returner, plus a depth option at both receiver and corner again on Sunday.

Who’s IN for the Packers?

Guard Aaron Banks, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, wide receiver Romeo Doubs, defensive end Kingsley Enagbare, defensive end Micah Parsons, right tackle Zach Tom, linebacker Quay Walker, wide receiver Christian Watson and wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks do not have status designations on the final injury report and are expected to play against the Giants.

Who’s OUT for the Packers?

The Packers ruled out cornerback Nate Hobbs, who will miss his second straight game with a knee injury. On Saturday, the team ruled out receiver Malik Heath due to a coach’s decision, and kicker Brandon McManus was added to the injury report and listed as doubtful because of an aggravation of his right quad injury.

The two players to watch at inactives for the Packers: receiver Matthew Golden, who missed last week because a shoulder injury, and edge rusher Lukas Van Ness, who has missed four games with a foot injury. Both practiced this week and are questionable to play.

Will Matthew Golden play?

The rookie receiver practiced in a limited capacity all week, and he talked this week as if he was playing on Sunday. Golden was close to playing through his shoulder injury last week. While listed as questionable, the early assumption is that Golden will be active against the Giants.

Who is going to kick for the Packers?

For the better part of the last two weeks, the Packers have insisted veteran kicker Brandon McManus is healthy enough to kick despite his struggles since injuring his right quad. While he was off the injury report and finally getting healthy this week, a setback happened Friday, and the Packers added McManus to the injury report on Saturday. He is doubtful to play. This late week injury means Lucas Havrisik, who made his first 10 kicks with the Packers as an injury replacement for McManus, will likely be kicker against the Giants. In windy conditions and inside a tricky stadium to kick, Havrisik will be in the spotlight for the Packers.

How long is the Giants injury list?

Buckle up. The Giants ruled out quarterback Jaxson Dart, edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux, receiver Darius Slayton, edge rusher Chauncey Golston and backup offensive lineman Evan Neal, listed safety Tyler Nubin and defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches as doubtful and listed linebacker Bobby Okereke and cornerback Paulson Adebo as questionable. Running back Cam Skattebo, receiver Malik Nabers and kicker Graham Gano are on injured reserve. By inactives, it’s possible the Giants will be without their starting quarterback, top running back, top two receivers, top tackler, a starting edge rusher, a starting defensive lineman, a starting cornerback, a starting safety and the team’s preferred kicker.
