3 Chargers Players to Watch Against Jaguars in Week 11

The Chargers are back on the road as they head to Jacksonville.

The Bolts will face the Jaguars in Week 11 at EverBank Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. (PT).

Here are three players to watch on Sunday:

1. RB Kimani Vidal

Vidal has been instrumental for the Chargers in lieu of injuries in the backfield.

The second-year running back has made the most of his opportunity since becoming the lead running back and become an important part of the Chargers offense since losing Omarion Hampton, Najee Harris and Hassan Haskins.

Vidal has led the backfield since Week 6 after Hampton was placed on Injured Reserve and has racked up 386 rushing yards, good for sixth-most in the NFL during that timeframe.

The 24-year-old also has the fifth-most rushing first downs gained (22) and sixth-most runs of 10 yards or more (11) among running backs since then.

He’s imposed his physicality as well and gaining the tough yards for the Bolts offense, with 236 of his yards coming after contact, according to Pro Football Focus, eighth most in the league.

And it’s been him on the field for the most part, as injuries have put a lot of the onus on him.

Vidal played 67 snaps against Pittsburgh in Week 10, good for 93 percent of the offensive snaps, which was the most share by a Chargers running back this year.

“Like I’ve bee saying, he’s playing like a No. 1 back, not just on our team but in the NFL,” Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh said.

He later added: “He brings a very physical style to his game, plus he’s elusive. He can jump a gap, see a gap. It’s just all real good. That’s what I see.”

Hampton could be making his way back soon, but in the meantime, Vidal has held it down and shown what he’s capable of.
