Steelers news: Jaylen Warren’s injury adds to pile amid Aaron Rodgers concern

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers experienced an injury in his left hand in the Week 11 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. While Rodgers is dealing with that situation, it appears running back Jaylen Warren sustained an injury of his own.
Reports indicate that Warren, who is 27 years old, is questionable to return with an ankle injury, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. In a matter of minutes, Pittsburgh is without its starting quarterback and running back for the time being.
“Per the Steelers: RB Jaylen Warren has an ankle injury and is questionable to return to today’s game.”
The former undrafted free agent recorded 62 rushing yards on 10 attempts before exiting Sunday’s contest. He was leading the team in that category before sustaining the injury. With Warren currently sidelined, Kenneth Gainwell has gotten the bulk of the carries, with rookie Kaleb Johnson also seeing some opportunities.
Jaylen Warren has played in all nine games in the season so far. He has currently recorded 536 rushing yards, 219 receiving yards, and three total touchdowns (two rushing).
With Aaron Rodgers dealing with an injury as well, the Steelers find themselves in a tough spot against the Bengals. Despite that, Pittsburgh leads 20-9 entering the fourth quarter. It could be a much worse situation. Regardless, the organization will likely have to evaluate Rodgers and Warren in the coming days.
If the game continues its course, then the Steelers would advance to a 6-4 record. That would give them a 1.5 game lead over the Baltimore Ravens, pending the result of Baltimore’s matchup against the Cleveland Browns.
