Steelers’ Jalen Ramsey Ejected for Punching Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase on Video

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Jalen Ramsey was ejected during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals after he was penalized for throwing a punch at Ja’Marr Chase.

Just moments earlier, Ramsey and Chase got into a light scrap, which resulted in offsetting unsportsmanlike conduct penalties:

There is never any love lost between the Steelers and Bengals, and Ramsey has a history of getting into it with Cincy wideouts. Chase has let his feelings about the Steelers be known in the past as well [warning: NSWF image below].

Ramsey, 31, has made the move to safety and had a number of solid plays at the position in the past few weeks.

“I guess you could say it brings a renewed energy for me because playing corner for 10 years, you kind of learn the game and it kind of becomes same old, same old, same old every day,” he told reporters earlier in November. “Not saying that I wasn’t learning or wasn’t trying to continue to grow that role. At safety, now I’m in the meetings and things. I’m learning new things to look at, different ways to look at the game from the safety’s point of view. But it’s been cool.”

Chase, 25, has had an up-and-down season for the Bengals, burdened by the injury to Joe Burrow. Jake Browning struggled immensely as the backup, leading to the acquisition of Flacco. The 40-year-old provided an initial spark but has been inconsistent since, and Chase’s output waxed and waned in the process.

While Mike Tomlin won’t be thrilled with Ramsey’s loss of composure in the contest, it didn’t ultimately affect the outcome, as the Steelers ultimately won 34-12.
