The much-anticipated new series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! launches this evening.

The line-up of famous faces swapping their comfortable lifestyles for several weeks in the Australian jungle was revealed earlier this week.

Viewers of the ITV programme will watch personalities including Alex Scott, Roman Kemp, and Kelly Brook confront their anxieties as part of the confirmed 2025 roster.

Among those heading into the jungle is Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley, who has revealed that the deaths of her mother in 2012 and, latterly, her close friend and Strictly professional Robin Windsor gave her the strength to take on the ITV challenge, reports the Express.

Lisa is widely recognised for portraying Mandy Dingle in Emmerdale, the adoptive mother of Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson).

Whilst ITV audiences appreciate their on-screen mother-son relationship, Lisa has previously discussed her personal difficulties with fertility.

Medical professionals informed the actress that due to her eggs being of of poor quality, natural conception or even IVF success would be highly unlikely.

In a 2018 interview with The Mirror, Lisa said: “Finding out that I was unlikely to get pregnant was a blow. But I refuse to be defined by that.

“People think women need to have a child to complete themselves, but that just isn’t the case.

“I feel that I have taken ownership of the situation now. I have seen other people go through years and years of IVF treatment and the stress and pressure that creates.

“I don’t want to do that. We have decided now that we aren’t going to go down that route, and now that we have made that decision, I could not be happier.”

Lisa revealed that her body had been ‘pumped’ full of hormones during the egg retrieval process, which took a severe toll on her wellbeing.

She continued: “It messes with your head, and I just couldn’t do that to myself any more. The past few months have been really hard, emotionally draining, and we just decided that enough was enough. I tried it, I gave it a go and it didn’t work.”

Nevertheless, the actress has emphasised that she remains content with her life without children, maintaining close relationships with her niece and nephews.

Audiences can catch Lisa’s jungle adventures tonight alongside fellow celebrities including Kelly Brook, Shona McGarty, Martin Kemp, Eddie Kadi, and Alex Scott.

This year’s line-up also features Ruby Wax, Jack Osbourne, Aitch, and Angry Ginge.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! returns to ITV on Sunday 17th November at 9pm.
