Appearing on Sunrise on Monday, Doyle raved about Winfrey.
“It’s a little surreal, we’ve done a few Zoom chats,” Doyle said, speaking to Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington.
“I’m at home thinking. Oh my God, I hope the dog doesn’t bark in the middle of this (interview).
“She’s fabulous. She’s lovely. She’s just what you would expect. We’ve talked about what she wants to bring to the audience. What we can learn from her. What wisdom she can share.”

Doyle shared a snippet of her conversation with Winfrey.
“I can’t wait to get back in Aussie country. Yesterday, I was interviewing Hugh Jackman about his latest film, Song Sung Blue, trying to be Neil Diamond. It is just layers of goodness,” Winfrey said.
“It’s so fun. When I watched it the first time, I was watching with a friend who said let’s watch it again. I am so excited for Hugh. I was telling Hugh that I was coming to Australia.
“The first thing he said, ‘let me tell you where you gotta go’. I’m excited this time because I’m taking days in between to be able to explore some of the cities.
“Doesn’t make sense to come all the way to Australia and not actually experience it. The very first time we came, the idea was to bring an entire audience.
“You remember that? That was one of the craziest things we did that actually worked out. Having people experience Australia was what was so exciting.”
Oprah’s words of wisdom for Aussies
Winfrey explained she would be sharing details of her life on her tour.
“I’m sharing life. Life has been life-ing for me, and for everybody. The older you get, if you are paying attention to life, it should be getting better and opening you up to the best places.
“It should be preparing you to use whatever wisdom you have to pass on to other people. I think the great thing about being older is that you’re building and planting trees, where you will never experience their shade.
“For me, it has always been about: What have I learned? What do I know? What can I offer to you that will make your life better?
“My great metaphor is to not look at how far you have to go up the hill. But to turn around, look back, and I’m like ‘wow, look at how far I have come’, which I think is a great metaphor for all of us.
“Look back, think about all the things you’ve survived.”
“I love … being more open to your own dreams, your own hope. Kindness, I think kindness is its own special currency.”
Sunrise host Nat Barr revealed she saw Winfrey when she was last in Australia 15 years ago, with Doyle.
Both were given a necklace which featured a stunning pearl.
“It was pretty fabulous, wasn’t it?” Doyle recalled.
