Sunny Sunday skies could shift into a rainy week. Here’s what to expect

Despite this weekends’ high temperatures and sunny skies, it might be time for North Texans to pull out umbrellas and rain boots.

Saturday’s high temperature of 89 degrees, reported at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport about 3:26 p.m., broke a climate record that was set in 1960, according to a National Weather Service climate report.

The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office said Sunday should be mostly sunny with highs in the 80s, with the first chance of thunderstorms popping up Wednesday.

The likelihood increases with up to a 90% chance of rain on Thursday, according to the NOAA.
