Bosses at Radio 4 drama The Archers have been forced to re-cast a role last minute that was originally given to Coronation Street’s Charlotte Jordan.
Charlotte, best known for her role as Daisy Midgeley in the ITV soap, has been credited in the radio series since June, but another job has meant she’s had no choice but to leave.
Charlotte has been playing a newcomer called Amber, but the role has now been given to another star as a result of Charlotte being cast in a TV role and not being able to do both.
The actress will feature in the new BBC period drama The Hairdresser Mysteries. She will star alongside Sally Phillips and Charlotte Hope, playing one of the three lead characters.
The series sees Lily Petal, played by Sally, move to a small village and uncover secrets that are being kept by multiple residents.

As a result of Charlotte’s casting in the drama and leaving The Archers, Olivia Bernstone has taken over the role of Amber, as revealed first by The Sun.
A spokesperson for the show told Metro: ‘After a brilliant performance as Amber, Charlotte Jordan is taking time to pursue other projects and so we are delighted to be welcoming Olivia Bernstone to the cast, who will play the role of Amber going forward.’
Charlotte’s Corrie character Daisy Midgeley departed the cobbles in May of this year, becoming one of the many characters who have left Weatherfield over the past year.

The character chose to start her life again elsewhere as she had convinced herself that too much had happened while living on the cobbles.
Prior to her departure though, she conducted a pretty fierce revenge plan that ended with her stealing a large sum of money from her step-mum Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews).
Daisy arrived in Weatherfield in 2020. She really did go through a great deal while living at the Rovers Return pub, including many romance dramas.

In 2023, Daisy’s stalker Justin arrived in the pub and planned to throw acid at her.
However, Daisy’s friend, colleague and on/off love interest Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) jumped in front of her as the liquid was thrown.
He took the full force of the corrosive liquid, changing his life forever.
