Richardson ISD is Named CTE District of Distinction

Richardson ISD is among the 72 school districts in the state of Texas to be recognized as a 2026 District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT).
The CTE District of Distinction is an honor given to school districts for their innovation, dedication, and excellence in advancing career and technical education. These outstanding districts excel in preparing students for future workforce success through impactful programs that align with industry demands, foster achievement, and inspire best practices statewide. Honorees, which make up less than 6% of school districts in the state, serve as models of excellence across the state, showcasing best practices and driving progress in workforce education. This prestigious designation recognizes districts of all sizes that demonstrate exceptional innovation, collaboration, and impact.
“Earning the CTAT District of Distinction recognition is especially meaningful because fewer than six percent of districts statewide receive this honor,” said Superintendent Tabitha Branum. “It represents visionary leadership in career and technical education, innovative partnerships, and a steadfast commitment to student and workforce success. Most importantly, this recognition reflects the dedication and commitment of our teachers, administrators, and community partners who work together to make RISD the ONE to provide exceptional, real-world learning opportunities that help every student thrive in college, career, and beyond.”
