Converse x Nike Book 1 Chuck Taylor

Devin Booker is an old soul. The Phoenix Suns star is known for his love for old school Chevy Impalas, flannel shirts, khaki shorts, and long socks, and of course, Converse Chuck Taylors. Carrying his love for the OG hoop shoe into his long line of signature PEs, Booker laced up a new pair of Chuck Taylor-influenced Book 1s at home against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.

The Nike Book 1 Chuck Taylor PE reminds sneaker casuals that Converse is owned by Nike Inc., splitting the logos with an All-Star circle patch on the medial side ankle, and a Swoosh on the lateral side panel. The colorway is a replica of the traditional black canvas Chuck, with a black foxing stripe running across the white midsole. The tongue gets a Nike tag, but the heel gets an All-Star license plate.

Nike and Converse have had a short but fruitful history of blending the line between brands. In 2024, two packs of cohesive collab collections featured Nike and Converse shoes together, one from pro skater Alexis Sablone, who added the same chameleon texture to an SB Dunk and a pair of her AS-One Converse signature model. Next, A Ma Maniere added a Converse Weapon Low to a pack of Jordans and Nikes to cover the entire Nike Inc. brand catalog, followed by an A Ma friends and family Chuck Taylor with Nike Swooshes on the side, much like Booker’s new PE.

Booker’s Nike Book 1 Converse Chuck Taylor PE won’t be released to the public, so you’ll have to stitch your own All-Star patch to the side of a GR Book 1 if you want the same vibe.
