The Legend of Zelda first official images, revealed by Nintendo, give us a glimpse of the live-action film

The leap to live-action from any video game world is one that must be taken with care. And with The Legend of Zelda, fans are always on high alert. What will Link and Zelda look like? Will Hyrule look as magical as it has in the video games? Well, there’s no need to worry anymore, as Nintendo revealed the first official images from the live-action movie The Legend of Zelda this morning.

The images were presented via the Nintendo News app. In them, we see Bo Bragason as the titular Princess Zelda, complete with bow and arrow, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. Here we can begin to theorize, or rather eliminate theories, about what we can expect from this adaptation. While Zelda wears a blue tunic very similar to the one we saw in Breath of the Wild and its champions, Link wears the hero’s classic green tunic (although without his hat), giving the uniform a look similar to that of Twilight Princess.

The content comes after several unofficial photos from the set appeared on social media this weekend. The images gave us a preview of what we saw today, although not with the same level of quality.

An epic that will take time to arrive

The Legend of Zelda movie is one of Nintendo’s upcoming cinematic adventures to hit the big screen, along with the upcoming The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Production on the film began just two weeks ago in New Zealand, and its actors, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who will play Link, and Bo Bragason, who will play Zelda, were introduced in July of this year. Details of the film, produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad and directed by Wes Ball, remain minimal.
