Iron to host Peterborough Sports in Third Round of Isuzu FA Trophy

Scunthorpe United has been drawn at home to face Peterborough Sports in the Third Round of the Isuzu FA Trophy.
The match, against the National League North outfit, will see the two sides do battle at the Attis Arena for a place in the fourth round of the competition.
With four meetings between the two teams, all over the last two seasons, United have won three out of the four, most recently a 5-0 win back on Easter Monday with goals from Max Kouogun, Tyler Denton, Callum Roberts, Max Brogan and Carlton Ubaezuonu. The other meeting at the Attis Arena was the only time the Iron haven’t won, a 1-1 draw in what was our first home game at Step Two.
Following promotion to the Enterprise National League, the Iron are back to entering in the third round stage having had two seasons entering at the second round proper stage. Last season, the side were edged out at the first attempt by Warrington Rylands in a 2-1 defeat at the Attis Arena, while in the year before, United first beat Darlington 2-0 in Round Two before losing 2-0 to Solihull Moors in Round Three.
The side’s only other involvement in the Isuzu FA Trophy came in our first campaign in the National League in 2022-23 in the Third Round stage, with the Iron losing 3-1 away at Wrexham in our only current away tie in the competition.
Victory for the Iron against whoever we are drawn to play would be the furthest the side have reached in the competition.
Games will take place on Saturday, December 13th, with full details announced once confirmed.
