President Milanović Meets with Prime Minister Orbán in Budapest

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović, who is on a two-day official visit to Hungary, met this evening in Budapest with the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

At the meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, President Milanović reiterated his position that maximum diplomatic efforts must be undertaken to establish peace and security in Europe, a view shared by the Hungarian Prime Minister.

President Milanović is visiting Hungary at the invitation of Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok, with whom he met and held talks earlier in the day. With the meeting with Prime Minister Orbán, President Milanović concluded the first day of his official visit to Hungary. Tomorrow in Pécs, together with the Hungarian President, he will take part in the ceremonial celebration of the Day of Croats in Hungary, which also marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Croatian National Self-Government and the 35th anniversary of the Alliance of Croats in Hungary. On the same day, Presidents Milanović and Sulyok will visit the municipalities of Bilje and Kopačevo in Osijek-Baranja County, where they will meet with representatives of the Hungarian national minority in Croatia.
