Tom Felton & Jason Isaacs Have Harry Potter Reunion As Three Generations Of Malfoys Unite For Draco Return

Fourteen years after the release of the final Harry Potter film, stars Tom Felton and Jason Isaacs reunited in New York at Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The two actors played son and father in the iconic fantasy franchise, with Felton appearing in all eight Harry Potter movies and Isaacs making his debut in Chamber of Secrets.
Felton has starred in multiple movies since then, including Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Now, after all these years, he is stepping back into Draco Malfoy’s shoes to reprise the character in the Broadway play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Just days after making his Broadway debut, Felton reunited with his on-screen father after Isaacs stopped by the Lyric Theatre to watch him play an adult version of Draco in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the sequel story that takes place 19 years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Isaacs shared a photo on Instagram in which he posed with Felton on the Lyric stage alongside Aidan Close, who plays Draco’s son Scorpius Malfoy in the play. The Star Trek: Discovery actor added a caption that said, “I came. I saw He conquered.”
The Lucius actor said that Felton had his “own giant boots to fill,” and he “burst them at the seams,” adding that he was proud of his on-screen son and was really happy to be there to see Felton’s latest accomplishment. He added a humorous hashtag, “#BlondesHaveMoreFun,” referencing the fact that both of their Harry Potter characters have blond hair. He included other photos in the Instagram post, including one showing him and Felton in a huge embrace.
In the comments section, Felton replied to Isaacs’s post, thanking his “dad” for coming to the show and adding, “I’ve never been prouder to be a Malfoy.” He started his limited run in Cursed Child on November 11. He was originally supposed to wrap up on March 22, 2026, but due to high demand, he’s extended his stint to May 10, 2026.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child debuted in the West End in 2016 and expanded to Broadway in 2018, where it won multiple Tony Awards, including Best Play, Best Direction of a Play, Best Scenic Design in a Play, Best Costume Design in a Play, Best Lighting Design in a Play, and Best Sound Design in a Play.
While diehard Harry Potter fans have given the play mixed reactions, Cursed Child has received overwhelming praise from general audiences and critics.
Not counting footage filmed for the theme parks, Felton is the first actor from the Harry Potter movies to reprise his role, and he won’t be the last. Warwick Davis, who played Professor Flitwick and Griphook in the films, will be returning for the Harry Potter TV show as the Charms professor.
It appears that Isaacs is the first cast member from the films to see Felton’s performance. However, Daniel Radcliffe, who played the titular character, did give Felton advice ahead of his Broadway debut since he has plenty of experience starring on Broadway in shows like Equus, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Cripple of Inishmaan, The Lifespan of a Fact, and Merrily We Roll Along.
Isaac’s reunion with Felton and the high praise he had for the Harry Potter actor speaks to the tight-knit bond they formed over the several years they spent filming the movies.
