Emmerdale’s April shocks Bob as her dark secret is threatened in early ITVX episode

Emmerdale spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (17 November), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Emmerdale’s Bob Hope gets one step closer to the horrifying truth about his granddaughter April Windsor tonight. Bob is alarmed by what he sees as he witnesses April being interviewed by the police over drug allegations.

Picking up from last week’s cliffhanger, April calls Bob and asks him to be her appropriate adult during a police quiz. She sees no other viable alternative, as she doesn’t want her dad Marlon or stepmum Rhona to find out what’s going on.

April was arrested for drug possession after being groomed into dealing for Ray Walters and Celia Daniels. However, once reunited with Bob, she urges him to believe that the police have made a terrible mistake.

As the interview begins, April faces some tough questions. Bob is gobsmacked as April coldly responds with a “no comment” to each one – clearly well-prepared for a possibility like this.

DS Clarke even openly asks April whether she’s being exploited, leaving the teen at a crossroads as she wonders whether to reveal all.

Later, Bob is unsettled by the tougher version of April he saw during the police interview, even though she’s still claiming that her arrest was all one big misunderstanding.

April warns Bob that she’ll never speak to him again if he tells Marlon or Rhona about the day’s troubling events. Will he give into this unexpected ultimatum? And how will Celia and Ray react to the news of April’s arrest?

Fans can see the drama play out in full when tonight’s episode airs on ITV1 at 7.30pm, or it’s streaming early now on ITVX and YouTube.

Michael Parr, who plays Ross Barton, recently spoke about the possibility of his character being involved in saving April as the ongoing exploitation story gathers momentum.

“I think that is starting to be released in the scripts soon,” Michael told Inside Soap’s weekly Soap Scoop podcast. “So I don’t know what’s going on with it, but we’ve always had a connection.”

On the possible consequences for Ray and Celia if Ross becomes their enemy, Michael continued: “I imagine when Ross does find out, there’s going to be hell to pay. I love working with Joe [Absolom, who plays Ray] and Jaye [Griffiths, who plays Celia] as well.

“I think if Ross is provoked and you hurt the wrong people around him, the old Ross is gonna come out.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
