Liev Schreiber rushed to hospital after sudden health scare: report

Liev Schreiber has reportedly been rushed to the hospital following a mysterious health scare.
The “Ray Donovan” star was said to have suffered a massive headache on Sunday before his doctor advised the actor to go to the hospital immediately, per TMZ.
Schreiber, 58, remained at a hospital in New York City overnight, according to the outlet, and doctors went on to run a battery of tests on the “Scream” star on Monday.

Although it is unclear what caused Schreiber’s massive headache, insiders told TMZ that his ability to walk and speak was not affected.
The Post has reached out to Schreiber’s rep for comment.
This wouldn’t be the first time the “Perfect Couple” star was hospitalized following a mysterious health scare.

Schreiber revealed that he was diagnosed with a rare condition called transient global amnesia while starring in “Doubt: A Parable” on Broadway during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in April 2024.
“The worst nightmare that an actor could possibly ever experience,” he began last year. “I was in my dressing room and I had a terrible headache. I thought it was maybe a fast-food headache, but it felt a little stronger than that.”
He continued, “I’m walking down the stairs and I’m thinking, ‘This is not normal. I don’t feel okay.’”

The “Asteroid City” actor knew “something was really wrong” when he saw his co-star, Amy Ryan, backstage and couldn’t remember her name.
His condition only got worse when Schreiber went back out onstage, only to completely forget his lines.
“It all vanishes,” he explained to Meyers. “The play is gone from my head…I know I’m in a play, but I don’t know what play I’m in.”

“My doctor, who’s a friend, shows up, and he had a terrified expression,” the Tony winner continued. “My wife shows up, and she looks terrified. I think, ‘Okay, I’ve had a stroke. This is it.’”
Schreiber married Taylor Neisen in July 2023. The couple has since welcomed a daughter, Hazel.
He also shares children Sasha, 18, and Kai, 16, with actress Naomi Watts. The exes dated for 11 years before splitting up in September 2016.

Although the “Caught Stealing” star was diagnosed with transient global amnesia, he was still convinced it was a stroke.
“The guy said, ‘You’ll never have this again and it’ll be gone in 8 to 24 hours,’ which I didn’t believe,” he recalled. “You know, as a typical sort of Jewish hypochondriac person, I’m convinced that I had a stroke and they just didn’t find it.”
Transient global amnesia is a rare but “harmless” condition that causes a sudden episode of memory loss, per the Cleveland Clinic. It resolves on its own within 24 hours.
“I go to sleep, I wake up, I remember the whole play,” Schreiber concluded. “I never had another problem with it. I was embarrassed and thought everyone would think I was lying and taking a night off from the theater.”
