WWE Raw Results, Winners And Live Updates For John Cena’s Farewell

John Cena’s final WWE Raw in Madison Square Garden.
WWE
WWE Raw from Madison Square Garden advertised John Cena’s final match on WWE’s Monday night flagship from the world’s most famous arena. Assuming he wrestles, tonight will mark Cena’s 545th match on Raw, a WWE record. Last week, John Cena shockingly defeated Dominik Mysterio to win his first WWE Intercontinental Title, thereby becoming a Grand Slam Winner.
Raw also advertised Maxxine Dupri vs. Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship as AJ Lee return rumors heat up all over again. The high-profile MSG show will also see the return of Gunther, who will face rising star Je’Von Evans in the “Last Time is Now” Tournament. In first-round action, Solo Sikoa will face a mystery opponent.
John Cena’s Final WWE Raw Match In Madison Square Garden
With 2025 coming to an end, John Cena’s (alleged) final year as a pro wrestler is starting to sink in. Cena has vowed he will never wrestle again after 2025. WWE Raw from MSG will likely be his final match on the longest-running episodic wrestling television show.
As the newly minted Intercontinental champion, John Cena is advertised to “kick off the action in his final Raw appearance,” though a match or opponent has not been named. It’s tough to imagine Cena’s final appearance in Madison Square Garden to come and go without a match. Perhaps Cena introduces an Intercontinental Title Open Challenge.
Meanwhile, in the Last Time is Now Tournament to decide Cena’s final opponent, the returning Gunther will face Je’Von Evans. Gunther is a massive (read: uninspiring) favorite to win the entire tournament. This will be Gunther’s first match since losing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk at SummerSlam on August 2. The consummate handpicked guy, Gunther has enjoyed:
- An undefeated streak (362 days)
- The longest Intercontinental Championship reign in WWE history (666 days)
- The longest NXT UK Championship reign in history (870 days)
- A win over Goldberg in Goldberg’s final match
Gunther is the last person who needs to fill the plush role as John Cena’s final opponent, let alone beat Cena in his final match. If such a thing happened, it would be a complete waste of Cena’s swan song on an established wrestler who does not need the win. In fact, I truly hope Je’Von Evans defeats Gunther in the first round. This would capture the spirit of a John Cena tournament looking to reward up-and-coming talent from both WWE and NXT.

WWE Raw Live Results And Highlights
John Cena vs Dominik Mysterio Announced For WWE Survivor Series
- Featured in the pre-show walkouts were Becky Lynch, the Vision, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre and the returning Gunther.
- Cena received one of the biggest pops of the year for his “final” appearance in Madison Square Garden. Cena was clad in Yankees gear, which had to hurt his heart as a Boston guy.
- John Cena usually tosses his towel into the crowd before running to the ring. This time, he dropped it on the floor. This is his last entrance in MSG, that towel’s not going to a fan. It’s going to the Hall of Fame.
- As Cena became more sentimental, Dominik Mysterio interrupted to a chorus of boos. Dominik said Cena was handed the IC Title, “just like you were handed everything else.” Dom said he had to work for everything he earned in the wrestling business. He said all this with a straight face. He’s such a great heel.
- Cena and Dom teased a rematch for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Despite the match already happening one week prior, with one two matches left in his whole career, fans ate this up.
- Dirty Dom battled STFU chants and challenged Cena to a match in Dom’s hometown of San Diego, Calif. at Survivor Series. Fair play, since Cena beat Dom in his hometown of Boston.
- Cena challenged Dominik Mysterio to a non-title match on Raw. Out came the Judgment Day. Dominik and the Judgment Day beat down John Cena in a three-on-one attack. Sheamus made the save, followed by Rey Mysterio, who made a brisk jog to the ring. I smell a trios.

John Cena, Rey Mysterio And Sheamus Def. The Judgment Day
- John Cena, Sheamus and Rey Mysterio were having the times of their lives throughout the entirety of this match. The three hit a Triple Five Knuckle Shuffle.
- John Cena took all three finishers from the Judgment Day, who all pinned Cena. This would have been the perfect time for one last Super Cena kickout, but instead, Cena was saved by Sheamus and Rey.
- In a wild ending sequence, the babyfaces hit their finishers, punctuated by an AA from Cena for the win.

Dolph Ziggler Returns And Loses To Solo Sikoa
- Nikki Bella attacked Stephanie Vaquer before Vaquer reached the ring for an interview. Bella mauled Stephanie in the smoke and cut a very good heel promo. The segment didn’t get nearly the heat it should have, especially in the Garden.
- Dolph Ziggler returned to an even bigger pop than Zack Ryder. Fans chanted “welcome back” and “let’s go Ziggler.”
- Dolph hasn’t missed a step, and he got all his stuff in. Fans were very invested in the possibility of Ziggler winning. They popped huge for the Zigzag, but it was only a nearfall.
- After a flurry of offense from Ziggler, Solo Sikoa blasted Ziggler with a Samoan Spike out of nowhere. Solo won the match and a budding theme is WWE stars of the future beating WWE stars of the past. Hopefully this also applies to Je’Von Evans following suit against Gunther.

Charlotte Flair Joins WarGames
- Alexa Bliss received the “what” treatment from this ungrateful New York crowd, but she powered through it. Bliss called out Charlotte for claiming to be her best friend only to leave her side.
- Nia Jax, Lash Legend and the Kabuki Warriors interrupted Bliss’ promo. She too received “what” chants. The heels prepared to attack Alexa, but Charlotte hit the ring followed by Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky. Fans chanted “she’s your best friend” as Charlotte helped Alexa to her feet. Charlotte appears to have joined the babyfaces at WarGames. Only one more name to go. Could it be AJ Lee?
- As Charlotte and Alexa embraced, RIYO shared a competitive hug of their own.

AJ Lee Returns As Maxxine Dupri Beats Becky Lynch For Women’s IC Title
- Jessika Carr officiated this match. Wade Barrett brought up the tense history between Lynch and “fast-count Carr.” Maxine caught Lynch with a bicycle kick as soon as the bell rang for a nearfall.
- Becky Lynch dominated throughout the break as she worked over Dupri’s left arm. Maxxine made a spirited comeback. Maxxine kipped up and MSG was behind her. Dupri targeted Lynch’s left arm as well, before trying the 10-count punches. Lynch countered with a powerbomb. Lynch attempted a Dis-Arm-Her, but Maxxine transitioned out of it twice.
- Dupri locked in the ankle lock. Fans went wild for a possible tap out. Lunch escaped and hit the Manhandle Slam. Maxxine put her foot on the rope. Lynch then turned her attention to Carr and berated her.
- Lynch undid the turnbuckles while Carr counted out Dupri. AJ Lee’s music hit as Becky Lynch was distracted. Dupri hit a flying cross body on Lynch for the shocking upset.

Gunther Def. Je’Von Evans
- Gunther returned with his vintage Symphony No. 9 theme music during his WALTER days. In fact, the smart mark New York crowd chanted “Walter!”
- Je’Von started off hot, but after a pair of chops on Gunther, the former world champion seemed to wake up and he answered with a big boot.
- Raw returned from commercial to a “Green shirt guy” chant as Gunther bullied Je’Von Evans. Gunther locked in a Boston Crab as NYC chanted for Y2J. Gunther caught Evans in the middle of a hurricanrana, but Evans flipped him over with a second attempt. Gunther’s shoulders weren’t all the way down, so the referee didn’t count. Je’Von turned it up with a flying kick followed by a suicide dive to the outside. Gunther caught Evans and slammed him against the apron.
- Gunther fired off on Evans with chops followed by another big boot. Je’Von countered a suplex into a cutter. Evans followed it up with another dive. Evans hit a splash for another nearfall.
- Back came Gunther with two powerbombs for a nearfall. Gunther locked in the sleeper hold. New York went crazy clapping their hands and rallying behind Je’Von. Gunther ultimately scored the win.
