Taylor Frankie Paul’s Mormon Wives Pals Slam Dakota Over Sexting Drama

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars aren’t letting Dakota Mortensen get away with anything while Taylor Frankie Paul is away filming The Bachelorette.
During season 3 of the Hulu show Dakota, 32, was accused of sharing sexually-charged messages with Taylor’s family friend. In a TikTok posted after the episodes started streaming on Thursday, November 13, Dakota lip-synched a scene from Friends where Ross (David Schwimmer) told Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) that he had slept with someone else when they were “on a break.”
Dakota added his own message in the caption, writing, “Also never touched another woman ever.”
Taylor’s friends weren’t as sure about his side of the story. Layla Taylor called Dakota out for posting while Taylor, 31, can’t use social media to respond as her journey to find The One is in production.
Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen‘s complicated romance was thrust into the spotlight on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives — and their relationship status remains unclear. The couple started dating before the show premiered on Hulu. Dakota was Taylor’s first public boyfriend after her divorce from husband Tate Paul due to a high-profile “soft […]
“You’re looking real brave since taylor doesn’t have access to her phone to clap back. One more time for you since you have a hard time comprehending, it’s not what you did, it’s WHO it was with 🥰,” Layla, 24, wrote, to which Dakota replied, “Hey remember how I’ve been labeled a cheater for 3 years when I’ve never cheated. You’re basing it off one incident. Sorry also isn’t okay and I have every right to defend that. We all know who is really afraid of Tay 🥰.”
Mayci Neeley jumped into the conversation as well.
“*We were on a break so I tried to hookup with someone Taylor considered a family member*,” she wrote in the comments section. “DAKOTA this is when you take the L and apologize not double down.”
Dakota, for his part, replied Mayci, 30, writing, “Ha wait I never tried to hook up with anyone. 🤦♂️sometimes I wish you guys would actually come to me for my side. I think it’s the most frustrating part about all this.”
After Mikayla Matthews defended Taylor, Dakota noted that Taylor “broke up” with him first, adding, “Ha don’t play that 🙄.”
When Secret Lives of Mormon Wives debuted in September 2024, the couple — who share 2-year-old son Ever — were in a good place. Their relationship faced many ups and downs before they eventually called it quits due to infidelity on Dakota’s part.
“I know a lot of people from a viewer point of view [don’t understand that] having everything aired out to the world is a lot different than just going to a person you care about or your family and telling them something,” he explained on an episode of “The Viall Files” in June. “Like, you want to talk about fear, that’s the scariest feeling in the world.”
Dakota noted that filming a reality TV show didn’t help their relationship.
“Then doing it with a show, you don’t have any control over it. If they’re missing something, it’s like that’s not how it was. That to me was really hard to grasp,” he recalled. “That was hard to understand. I was like, ‘I don’t want to be torched to the world for it. I just want to have a moment with you where I can talk to you. I want a safe place to talk.’ But that’s not the case.”

Season 3 hinted at a possible reconciliation but that fizzled out when Taylor caught wind of rumors that Dakota shared sexual messages with her mother Liann May‘s unnamed pal. Dakota owned up to speaking with the friend via text messages and even claimed the woman sent sultry photos of herself to him.
Taylor called the woman, who refused to film for the show. Dakota also wouldn’t appear on screen in the finale after no longer wanting to address the drama or the fallout of his romance with Taylor.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is currently streaming on Hulu.
