A congregation of hundreds joined the Dean of Cork and his new wife to celebrate their wedding with them. The Very Reverend Nigel Dunne tied the knot with Sonya Keogh in a beautiful ceremony in Cork city this weekend.

He has been the Dean of Cork since 2007. The couple marked the special occasion on Saturday in front of a congregation totalling 300 people who gathered to celebrate their new marriage, RSVP Live reports. Sonya looked incredible in a gown and wedding coat by couturiere Sue Pearce, a Cork-based designer of handcrafted bridal wear.

The Dean of Cork is the head of Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral, one of the most recognisable churches in Cork city. The Very Reverend Dunne is responsible for the spiritual and administrative oversight of the cathedral’s Church of Ireland community and represents Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral as the mother church of the diocese.

The newlyweds held their ceremony at Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral, and they were married by Bishop of Cork, the Right Reverend Dr Paul Colton. The Nuptial Eucharist was celebrated by the Reverend Canon Paul Willoughby, who is Rector of Kilmocomogue Union of Parishes (Bantry) and Canon of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin.

They were joined by 300 guests, including family, church community members, friends, and more. Performances by the Cathedral Choir featured around 40 members singing, conducted by Director of Music, Peter Stobart, who was accompanied by Assistant Director of Music, Matthew Breen. Guests were also treated to the talents of an ensemble of Cork’s leading musicians on strings, trumpet, flute and timpani.
