Freddie Mercury gets flashy new Royal Mint coin as proud family praise tribute

ROCK icon Freddie Mercury is being celebrated with a Royal Mint coin.
The late Queen frontman is depicted mid-performance, while a musical stave with notes represents his four-octave vocal range.

And a studded armband edge design was inspired by his outfit for Live Aid.
Freddie’s sister Kashmira Bulsara visited the Royal Mint to strike the first one.
She said: “Striking the first coin at the Royal Mint was such an emotional and proud moment for me.”
“Freddie would have been delighted to see himself honoured in this way.
