Just a month after penning a new deal with the Imps, Scott Fry has agreed a deal to head to Rangers as their new Set Piece coach, joining Danny Rohl’s new coaching team for the SPL outfit.

We’ve undoubtedly benefited from Scott’s work, having garnered the highest differential for goals scored vs goals conceded across Europe in the 2024/25 season, and this has put him on the radar of a number of clubs. In a statement, the club confirmed that he will be joining Danny Rohl at Ibrox, and that there will be compensation paid to the Imps as part of the move.

Scott has been part of City’s coaching team since July 2022, when he initially joined as goalkeeping coach before taking on the responsibility of overseeing set-pieces at the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

City’s director of football Jez George said: “Scott leaves with our absolute best wishes. We went on a journey together in terms of our use of AI to improve our processes and design of set plays, which resulted in outstanding outcomes and inevitably attracted the attention of other clubs.

“Scott made it clear that it would take a life changing offer for him to leave and, while we have managed to rebuff a number of approaches, we respect that Rangers have provided him with an opportunity that he can’t turn down. We thank Scott for his contribution to our continued development over the past four seasons, the culture that he has embedded regarding set plays and sincerely wish him well for this next challenge.”

Everyone at the Stacey West wishes Scott the best in his new venture!
