Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) needs to get Ross Barton (Michael Parr) away from Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) pronto in Emmerdale.
Never in a million years could she have seen this situation coming. Mack has always been a vehement adversary of Ross.
It’s never been an issue that they would get close, something reassuring for Charity, having cheated on Mack with Ross and getting pregnant with his baby.
She didn’t once expect that her whole façade could be at risk when her husband befriends her baby daddy.

Charity is playing surrogate for granddaughter Sarah (Katie Hill), although Sarah currently has no clue that the implanted embryo didn’t take and that in a moment of madness, Charity accidentally got herself pregnant by other means and is now trying to pass the baby off as Sarah and Jacob’s (Joe-Warren Plant).
She tried to fob a curious Ross – the father – off with some faked DNA results, and has managed to keep Sarah and Jacob away from the scans. So far so good.
But Ross wasn’t sold on the DNA results, he’s just been buying his time. He’s got clever all of a sudden and has begun playing the long game.
He’s befriended Mack tactically as Charity’s pregnancy progresses in a bid to keep her close.

The fear of God was put in her when Mack casually told her that he and new bestie Ross share everything. With life as she knows it at risk, Charity brings out the big guns.
She plots to drive a huge wedge between Mack and Ross. She puts Mack firmly in the doghouse over his choice of new BFF, even with Ross out of town visiting his brother in Liverpool.
Dear, sweet, innocent Liam (Jonny McPherson) manages to upset the applecart with a quip about this new blossoming bromance, prompting Charity to strongarm the GP into becoming friends with Mackenzie himself and breaking up the bro-hood.

But things blow up in Charity’s face when Mack and Liam have a spectacular falling out.
Liam backs out of the deal, but Charity has an ace up her sleeve.
She knows Liam’s big secret and threatens to spill it if he doesn’t do her bidding.
She’s going to some lengths to protect her baby secret, but is it all for nothing?
