Alex Scott makes feelings clear on marriage to Jess Glynne after I’m A Celeb star’s two demands

The former Arsenal and England star is part of this year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! cast and is expected to open up on her relationship with popstar Jess Glynne

Scott and Glynne started dating in 2023

After arriving in the jungle over the weekend, former Lionesses star and BBC presenter Alex Scott is quickly bonding with her fellow I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! campmates, with this year’s contestants opening up about their lives back home.

The opening two episodes of the new series of the hit ITV show have already seen the likes of Jack Osbourne and Lisa Riley open up on losing their parents, and show bosses will be hoping that Scott will give some insight into her home life, particularly her relationship with chart-topping singer Jess Glynne.

Arsenal icon Scott, who also won 140 caps for England during her playing career, is now a celebrated pundit and presenter, as well as one half of a new power couple, having gone public with her relationship with Glynne last year.

The duo sparked speculation that they were an item months earlier, having been spotted attending several events – including parties and award ceremonies – together.

They were also seen sharing a kiss while strolling through London together and, despite attempts to keep the relationship under wraps, later revealed they were together.

With their relationship seemingly going from strength to strength, fans have questioned whether wedding bells could soon be on the horizon for the former football ace and I’ll Be There singer.

Just months before teasing her romance with Glynne, Scott – who was single at the time – had made her feelings clear on what she needed from a relationship, as well as her views on marriage.

Scott and Glynne initially tried to keep their relationship from the public

Speaking to Grazia in 2023, she said she was looking for love again, but needed two things from a potential partner – an “instant connection”, as well as the ability to have an easy conversation with them.

“I am single, but I’m ready to mingle… I struggle with apps,” she explained. For me, it’s all about connection, that instant connection with someone, and conversation, and then I’m like ‘Oh, wow.'”

On the subject of marriage and children, the now-41 year-old said: “I would love that, but equally, if that’s not the case then it’s not the case. I’m going to be 40 in two years. I actually forget that.”

Ahead of her jungle stint, Scott told the Daily Mail that she was preparing to spend the longest period of time away from Glynne since they started dating, which she believes will prove a challenge for both of them.

“It’s going to be a test for both of us,” she said, as she opened up on what she would miss most. “Her cooking pasta for me is absolutely everything. Those quiet moments when your life’s a hundred miles per hour, just coming home and she loves to cook and we love to sit and have a glass of wine.

“I’ll most probably be watching football in the background. But yeah, I’m definitely going to miss that, especially when I’m so hungry. And that’s most probably all I’m going to be thinking about is ‘please, can I just have Jessica’s pasta right now?'”.

On why she initially tried to keep her relationship Glynne secret, Scott added: “From the start, we were very guarded and private because we wanted to get to know each other and figure out ourselves before it was out there for the world.”
