Everyone on PIP, DLA and Attendance Allowance getting DWP one-off payment

Extra payments confirmed for certain benefit claimants over the coming weeks

The bonus is worth £10 and should enter bank accounts during December, in time for Christmas.

Households who get PIP, Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Attendance Allowance are among those who will qualify, along with pensioners.

People who get Universal Credit and no other benefits aren’t eligible for the Christmas Bonus.

The bonus has been criticised as being essentially worthless due to the low £10 amount.

Governments have resisted calls for years to increase the amount, which has decreased in value over time as prices have risen.

The Government says: “The Christmas Bonus is a one-off tax-free £10 payment made before Christmas, paid to people who get certain benefits in the qualifying week.

“This is normally the first full week of December.

“You do not need to claim – you should get paid automatically.”
