Sophie Turner Is Caught in the Middle of a Historic Heist in New ‘Steal’ Images [Exclusive]

After taking on the horrors of being a young actress entering the industry in Trust earlier this year, Sophie Turner is about to be thrust into another alarming scenario with Prime Video’s new high-octane thriller series, Steal. Premiering early next year, the show casts her as Zara, an average office worker who just so happens to be caught up in the heist of the century during an otherwise normal day on the job. Even worse, she and her best mate Luke, played by Gran Turismo star Archie Madekwe, are forced to carry out the gang of thieves’ demands. Collider can exclusively share a new set of images that show how this otherwise ordinary day evolved into an extraordinary event, and who the people are at the center of it all.

Steal unfolds within the offices of Lochmill Capital, a pension fund investment company that becomes the target for a group of violent criminals. Before they arrive and completely upend the day, everything seems to be going as normal for the employees. One image sees Zara waiting in the meeting room with a plate of cookies in front of her, while another highlights the friendship between her and Luke. The two look like the epitome of office besties, laughing and smiling with each other in between working at their computers and grabbing coffee. When the thieves arrive, however, the mood shifts as they’re all thrust into a situation they never imagined, appearing both scared and confused when they’re all held at gunpoint. Made to do the bidding of the criminals, they’re left to question who would drain billions of pounds from the pensions of ordinary people and why.

The job of answering those burning questions belongs to DCI Rhys, played by Bodies alum Jacob Fortune-Lloyd. Although he’s determined to solve this case, he brings a darker side to this thriller, as seen in another shot that shows him with his gun drawn. Rhys is a gambling addict who recently relapsed and is trying desperately to stave off his own money troubles. It further complicates his investigation, which already has him confronting secret agendas and conflicting interests behind this strange, far-reaching heist. To work through the case, he does appear to have some help at the office, though, courtesy of another investigator played by The Winter King‘s Ellie James.

Who Is Behind ‘Steal’?

Steal was originally ordered at Prime Video under the working title Haven, written by novelist S.A. Nikias in their first screenwriting credit. Amazon MGM Studios produced the series in partnership with Drama Republic, the banner behind The Irregulars, Netflix’s One Day, and most recently, Riot Women. Rebecca de Souza and Greg Brenman both served as executive producers on the series, with Nuala O’Leary serving as a producer. For Turner, this marks just one of a couple of high-profile team-ups with Amazon. Most notably, she’s set to become the next actress behind Lara Croft in Phoebe Waller-Bridge‘s Tomb Raider series, which is set to begin production in January.

Steal arrives on Prime Video on January 21, 2026. Check out our exclusive images in the gallery above.
