‘These things happen’ — Why Spencer Matthews isn’t able to support Vogue Williams in Australia

Spencer Matthews is unable to be in Australia to support Vogue Williams on I’m a Celebrity due to timing issues.
Vogue is set to be one of this year’s late arrivals in the jungle, and she’s currently awaiting her entrance.
However, Spencer can’t be there with her as he’s currently thousands of kilometres away on his own mission.

The 37-year-old is attempting to complete seven full Ironman marathons on seven continents in 21 days.
Spencer was supposed to be a surprise I’m a Celeb campmate in 2015, but was forced to quit after confessing to taking steroids.
He is currently on his way to South Africa for his next race, so is unable to cheer Vogue on from nearby.

An insider told the Daily Mail: ‘The timing isn’t ideal at all, but sometimes these things happen, and Vogue and Spencer’s diaries just clash.
‘Of course, Spencer would want nothing more than to support Vogue in Australia and be there waiting for her when she leaves the jungle but both are committed to their own projects, and unfortunately, the schedules overlap.’
The source also confirmed that the couple’s three children will be remaining in London.

They said: ‘There’s a small chance Spencer could finish his triathlon challenge ahead of schedule, but it’s unlikely he would then fly to Australia.
‘They’ll both be missing their children, who will stay in London, continue attending school, and no doubt support their parents from afar – catching Vogue on TV whenever they can.’
Vogue was absent from the group of celebrities that kicked off the return of the hit series on Sunday, but she is expected to make her arrival soon.
Spencer acknowledged that he didn’t know if Vogue would be able to support him on his own mission during an appearance on Good Morning Britain last week.

However, the former Made In Chelsea star remained as tight-lipped as he could over where Vogue would be.
Presenter Susanna Reid cheekily asked: ‘Is Vogue going to be able to be there to support you or is she going Down Under on her own epic mission in I’m A Celebrity?’
While smirking, Spencer replied: ‘I mean, the announcement was made yesterday, was it not?’
Susanna then quickly pointed out: ‘But there’s some late arrivals, we hear.’
This prompted Spencer to coyly say: ‘Listen, you know more than me as ITV. But she, no, she will be there on Thursday supporting me and, she hopes to be at the finish line.’
