What will the weather be like for Thanksgiving? Here’s the long-term forecast

Will the sun be shining on your Thanksgiving meal this year?
It’s not likely, according to projections. And that’s not just because the sun will set in the Harrisburg area around 4:43 p.m. on Nov. 27.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts that much of the United States will have rain and clouds on Thanksgiving Day.
While the Northeast may be exempt from that prediction, AccuWeather’s forecast for Thanksgiving says we’ll have “times of clouds and sun with a passing shower.”
The high is expected to be around 54 degrees and the low will be close to 40 degrees, with a 55 percent chance of precipitation.
The Weather Channel’s forecast for Thanksgiving is even less sunny, with a projected high of 48 degrees and a low of 33.
According to The Weather Channel, we can look forward to cloudy skies during the day, and occasional showers that night.
But with Thanksgiving over a week away, there’s plenty of room for these forecasts to change.
The National Weather Service, which only issues forecasts a week in advance, has yet to offer their projections for the Harrisburg area.
Still, it may not be a bad idea to have a jacket and umbrella handy on Thanksgiving, just in case.
