I am going through a lot as Kotoko coach – Karim Zito

Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has revealed that an escalating injury crisis is putting immense pressure on his preparations, calling for extraordinary mental strength to navigate the challenges.

Zito’s remarks came after the Porcupine Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw in Sunday’s Matchday 10 encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Although Kotoko remain the only unbeaten side in the league this season, the coach acknowledged that the constant setbacks are complicating his plans.

“Not losing and getting one point is better, but I’m not trying to find excuses,” he said.

“What I’m going through in this club is not easy. If you don’t have mental toughness, you can’t. Every day of the week, some player will get injured.

He added that forward Dauda Saaka was pressed into action despite not being fully fit.

“I had to force Dauda Saaka to play. I have to use what I have to get what I want, though we couldn’t achieve the target,” he added.

Kotoko return to the Baba Yara Stadium today for a rescheduled league match against Young Apostles before traveling to Nsenkyire Sports Complex for their Matchday 11 clash with FC Samartex this weekend.
