Tobey Maguire Returns As Spider-Man In New Avengers: Doomsday MCU Art

Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man comes back in new Avengers: Doomsday art that shows how exciting the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie can get. After starring in three Spider-Man movies, Maguire finally returned to the role of Peter Parker in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. The project is easily one of the best movies in the MCU and a box office hit.
Spider-Man: No Way Home grossed nearly $2 billion worldwide, showing how fans were interested in more from Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s versions of Spider-Man. While the two actors were not announced for the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, Tom Holland was also absent. Now, exciting Avengers movie art imagines one of the three live-action Spider-Men returning for Avengers: Doomsday‘s multiversal story.
On Instagram, artist @spdrmnkyxxiii shared what Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man return in Avengers: Doomsday could look like.
The fan art for the upcoming MCU movie features a maskless Maguire Spider-Man, with the actor displaying a bloody cut near his left eye, teasing the dangerous nature of Doctor Doom’s MCU arrival. Peter Parker has no beard, and his Spider-Man suit is Maguire’s classic costume, with raised webbing. The concept poster is titled “Doomsday Arrives.”
Could Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Return In Avengers: Doomsday?

In short, Tobey Maguire could very well be in Avengers: Doomsday. Aside from recent rumors that the actor will be back in the 2026 MCU movie, Maguire previously revealed that he would jump at the chance to play Spider-Man again if Marvel came asking. Due to the multiverse nature of Doomsday and how it includes Fox’s original X-Men, Maguire would fit right in.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man might also not appear in Avengers: Doomsday. After all, the MCU’s Peter Parker will be back next year in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which features a street-level story that includes other MCU heroes, such as the Punisher and the Hulk. If that movie ends up taking place at the same time as Doomsday, Spider-Man would be out.
If Holland’s Spidey becomes unavailable, the best option to still feature a Spider-Man in Avengers: Doomsday would be to bring Maguire back to the MCU. While seeing Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man return would also be exciting, he could easily be saved for Avengers: Secret Wars, with Maguire’s status as the original Peter out of the three making him the biggest draw.
Why Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Needs To Be In Both Of The MCU’s Next Avengers Movies

I would love to see Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man return not only in Avengers: Doomsday, but also in Secret Wars for a very simple reason. After all, the MCU is said to go through a reboot at the end of Secret Wars. This would mark the end of the Multiverse Saga, thus killing Maguire’s chances of playing Spider-Man after the 2027 movie.
Due to that, I need as much of Maguire’s Spider-Man as possible. The first step would be having the world of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, Fox’s X-Men from The Marvels‘ post-credits scene, the MCU Fantastic Four, and the main MCU all colliding in an incursion. Then, he could help save the multiverse in Avengers: Doomsday‘s sequel, Secret Wars.
