Sixers injury news: Nick Nurse offers latest on Joel Embiid, others

CAMDEN, N.J. — The Philadelphia 76ers got back to work on Tuesday at practice following a win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. The Sixers saw the return of Paul George in the win and the focus now is making sure he is getting back to what he can be on the floor.
Playing in his first game since March 4, George scored nine points on 2-for-9 shooting while grabbing seven rebounds in 21 minutes. It was good for the Sixers to get him back on the floor and begin to re-integrate him back into what they want to do.
As far as how he came out for the contest, coach Nick Nurse gave his thoughts on how George looked and his status in practice.
“He was good,” Nurse said. “He came out good. He feels good. He felt good. He feels good today. He was a full participant in practice.”
As far as Joel Embiid and Kelly Oubre Jr. are concerned, the big fella is working his way back from a right knee issue that has held him out for the last four games. Oubre has been diagnosed with an LCL injury in his left knee so the Sixers are waiting for the extent of that injury.
“Kelly’s still waiting,” Nurse said. “I think there’s another meeting here shortly with him. Joel’s still the same. He’ll get an update at 5:00 (the injury report) on him. He was a full participant today, though.”
Nurse also added that George will likely not play in both of the back-to-back games, but he will play in one.
