The Rockets are 9-3 and riding a four-game win streak, with three of those victories coming against Eastern Conference squads. Houston’s last game was a 117-113 overtime win over the Orlando Magic that featured an 11-point fourth quarter comeback. Alperen Sengun had 30 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and two blocks while Kevin Durant dropped a game-high 35 with six helpers and five boards. Reed Sheppard led all bench players with 16 along with seven rebounds while Aaron Holiday had 10, and Steven Adams had a game-high 13 rebounds, eight of which were offensive. And to top off the true team effort, Amen Thompson (12 and 10) and Jabari Smith Jr. (10 and 10) added a couple points and rebounds double-doubles and Josh Okogie had a team-high two steals.
The 10-5 Cavaliers have won three of their last four and are on a two-game winning streak. Their last game was Monday against the Milwaukee Bucks, and they won 118-106. Donovan Mitchell matched his second-best scoring output of the season with 37 while also dishing out his second-most assists this season with seven. Craig Porter Jr., Lonzo Ball and Dean Wade combined for 21 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and six steals. As for the other four starters, they all scored in double figures with Sam Merrill pouring in 20, Evan Mobley posting 14, Jarrett Allen getting 12 and De’Andre Hunter adding 11.
