Thunder Set to Face Struggling Kings Despite Injury Challenges

The Oklahoma City Thunder are preparing to host the Sacramento Kings this Wednesday in what will be the third meeting of the season between the two teams. The Thunder, who have claimed victory in both previous encounters, most recently triumphed over the Kings on November 7.
Currently boasting a remarkable record of 14-1, the Thunder are riding a wave of momentum following a commanding 126-109 victory against the New Orleans Pelicans. This win featured a franchise-record-setting performance, as the Thunder exploded for 49 points in the first quarter. Chet Holmgren stood out with an efficient 26 points. This victory extended Oklahoma City’s winning streak to six games.
On the flip side, the Sacramento Kings are struggling significantly, having lost their last six games, including a recent 123-110 defeat to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. DeMar DeRozan showed flashes of brilliance in that game, contributing 27 points, but ultimately the team could not secure the win.
In terms of player availability, both teams face notable absences. Oklahoma City will be missing several key contributors: Jalen Williams (wrist surgery), Aaron Wiggins (adductor strain), Kenrich Williams (knee surgery), Nikola Topic (testicular surgery), and Thomas Sorber (torn ACL) are all sidelined. Branden Carlson, however, has been cleared to play despite dealing with a nasal fracture.

The Kings, too, are grappling with significant absences. Their standout player, Domantas Sabonis, is ruled out due to knee soreness. Additionally, Keegan Murray (torn thumb UCL), Isaiah Stevens, Daeqwon Plowden, and Dylan Cardwell, all on G-League two-way contracts, will also miss the game.
Fans can anticipate a competitive matchup as tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT in Oklahoma City.
