LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Quite a change of pace, we expect showers and thunderstorms to move across the area late tonight into Thursday. Here is a live stream of the radar:
There is a lot more humidity just east of Lubbock this afternoon. Late afternoon a few isolated storms have developed from near Snyder to Aspermont, east of our area. These will move northeast. A few more storms are possible late today, over the SE edge of our area, off the Caprock.
Then our attention turns to tonight. It’ll be cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms developing…likely some time after Midnight.

There may be showers and storms around for your drive to school or work Thursday. We’ll keep a good chance for rain and thunderstorms throughout the day. It probably won’t rain the entire time, but that chance continues throughout the day.

A few thunderstorms could become strong, with up to 1″ hail or gusty wind. We’re not expecting widespread severe weather. More than anything, heavy rainfall will be possible where storms develop.
With clouds hanging around tonight, the temperature will only drop to around 55 in Lubbock in the morning.
