Where Could Odell Beckham Jr. Play After Suspension? Top Landing Spots for NFL WR

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. could be making his NFL comeback after almost a year away from the league.
The wide receiver was reinstated from a six-game suspension ahead of Week 12 and is now eligible to sign a new contract.
Beckham has not played since December 2024, when he was released by the Miami Dolphins in what head coach Mike McDaniel described at the time as a mutual decision.
McDaniel said the move was driven in part by Beckham’s “tough start in terms of having to rehab his way into the season.”
Beckham underwent knee surgery during the 2024 offseason and began the campaign on the physically unable to perform list.
He returned in Week 5 only to see sporadic usage by the Dolphins. At the time of his release he had made nine catches on 18 targets for 55 yards in nine games.
Beckham then said in an October episode of the Pivot Podcast that he had accepted a six-game suspension after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs during the 2024 season.
The wide receiver earned three straight Pro Bowl nods in his first three NFL seasons with the New York Giants between 2014 and 2016, but has not returned to the same level of play since fracturing his ankle in 2017.
His career has since been impacted by a series of injuries, including a knee issue that sidelined him for the entirety of the 2022 campaign.
Given his 10 seasons of NFL experience, Beckham could still add a veteran perspective with a depth role on his new receiving corps. He said when speaking on the Pivot Podcast in October that he is ready to accept a more limited workload with his next team.
Here are a few teams who consider adding Beckham as a depth option for the final stretch of the 2025 campaign.
Beckham has worked with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens before. He played the 2023 season in Baltimore, where he made 35 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games.
With Derrick Henry on the field, the Ravens are likely to continue focusing on a run-heavy offense, while Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman and DeAndre Hopkins currently lead the receiver depth chart.
Given that Bateman is currently sidelined by a sprained ankle, the Ravens could potentially look to add some receiving depth in order to bolster their push for the playoffs.
The Chiefs were one of the teams Beckham was considering in 2024 free agency, per Jeremy Fowler.
Kansas City could now consider adding him to fill out receiver room that was plagued by injury last season.
The Chiefs’ receiver depth chart is currently led by Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown. Beckham would also be competing for targets with Travis Kelce, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton.
Should any of these players suffer injuries down the stretch, however, the Chiefs might want to have another option on deck ahead of the playoffs.
The Steelers bolstered the team’s receiver depth last season with a deadline-day trade for former New York Jets wideout Mike Williams.
After Williams departed this offseason to join the Los Angeles Chargers, Pittsburgh traded George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys and acquired DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks.
The franchise has reportedly been looking to improve its depth ahead of Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson, but didn’t add a receiver at the trade deadline.
The Steelers are in urgent need of more postseason offense in order to win their first playoff game since the 2016 season. That could open up an opportunity for Beckham should Pittsburgh decide to add depth down the stretch.
The Bills were another club Beckham considered as a free agent ahead of the 2024 season, according to Fowler.
Beckham could now head to Buffalo to potentially provide more options for Josh Allen after Amari Cooper’s free agency departure and subsequent retirement.
Given that tight end Dalton Kincaid is dealing with a hamstring injury after also missing time to injury last season, adding Beckham would give Buffalo some insurance should Allen lose any more of his top targets down the stretch.
The Eagles offense may have leaned in large part on Saquon Barkley’s record-breaking 2024 season to win Super Bowl LIX, but the reigning champions might still look for more receiving depth after dealing with injuries to both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith last season.
Beckham would have to compete for targets with Jahan Dotson should the Eagles acquire him to fill out the receiving room behind those two stars.
