Glasgow trains face disruption after damage to overhead wires

Trains travelling through Glasgow Central Station are facing disruption after damage to overhead wires.

ScotRail issued a statement at around 7.30am on Thursday confirming they had received reports of damage at the city centre station.

They confirmed Network Rail staff were being sent to the scene.

A few hours later, ScotRail also confirmed that there was damage to overhead lines between Dalry and Kilwinning.

They advised customers between Kilwinning, Ayr, Largs and Ardrossan Harbour to make their own alternative arrangements.

A ScotRail statement read: “We have received reports of damage to the overhead lines at Glasgow Central.

“NetworkRailSCOT staff have been mobilised and will arrive on site shortly to look into this. We are sorry for the disruption to your journey and once we have more information from staff on the ground we will update you.”
